My 4 1/2 month old german shepherd puppy is teething, and he was chewing on a rawhide bone. I noticed some blood which isn't unusual, but i took a look at which tooth he was loosing and it was his canine tooth. It was lying flat against the roof of his mouth. Do i try to remove it myself, or wait until thurs. ( his next vet visit) and let them look at if if he doesn't swallow it? I am unsure of letting him swallow it with it being a canine tooth. Any ideas?

If I get one, can a regular vet, check for degenerative myelophathy or check for hip dyplasia?
Is it unreasonable to ask the breeder for the OFA number so I can look up the dog's health?
How can I be relatively sure that I can get a healthy German Shepherd without paying 00 dollars?

She likes big dogs, and so do I but she wants a more "family" type dog like a retriever. I want an incredibly smart dog who will be very protective of our family (even though we won't have kids for a few years).

I have grown up with german shepherds, I love big dogs. I wish I could get a husky or a german shepherd but their size doesn't fit my lifestyle. Can anyone recommend a smaller dog that has a similar personality? Under 25 pounds. Thanks!

An eminently photogenic Australian Shepherd begins a blog.

If anyone can help me out with this one, thank you. I'am looking for a new companion in my life. So why not a german shepherd, i have had experience with them in the past as a family member has had one and my other dog is lonely during the day. The canberra times don't have any for sale, neither do the pet stores such as Pets Paradise, and do not wish to adopt one, looking 4 a female german shepherd puppy. Thank you for any help.
