The Border Collie is a herding dog breed it was bred in Anglo-Scottish border region for herding livestock, specializing in sheep.
It is extremely energetic, acrobatic, athletic and smart. They compete with huge success in dog sports and sheepdog competitions. They have been accused of being the most intelligent of all dogs.
This breed is highly intelligent and eager to please its owners, they are highly trainable. However if you treat them harshly they will become submissive. Care =should be taken to strike a balance with this breed. They make wonderful pets in homes where their is an energetic family.
