How to Train a Yorkshire Terrier

by Dogs.net on August 28, 2011

Training a Yorkshire Terrier can be frustrating and difficult. Especially when they won't listen or follow the commands you give them. So, what I'm going to do is share with you some tips on how to train a Yorkshire Terrier.

That way, your dog will start following your commands.

The tips on training a Yorkshire Terrier are:

1. The first tip is to minimize the distractions. Yorkies love attention. If there are too many people or other animals around while you are trying to train your dog, they won't be able to focus. So, be sure to train your dog without people or animals around.

2. The next tip is to reward your dog with a treat after they have followed a command. When you show your dog what you want them to do and they do it, be sure to give them a treat. This will help encourage them to do it again.

You don't have to give them a treat every time they follow a command, though.

3. During the times you don't give your Yorkshire Terrier a treat, you should praise them. This will let them know that they're doing a good job. Yorkies love to be praised.

4. Another tip on training a Yorkshire Terrier is to train your dog yourself. This will help create a strong bond between you and your dog. Training them the proper way will make you bring you and your dog closer together.

These are some tips on how to train a Yorkshire Terrier. If you want your dog to be trained, you should do something about it now. Be sure to use these tips to help you.
