I want a sheltie puppy. I rather that it's from in Colorado so I don't have to go through the shipping hassle. I don't want an akc puppy because of the cost. I want a girl and I want her to be gold sable, red sable or tri-colored . Any recommended breeders?

I have researched the symptoms for years but I have not found a conclusive idea on what was wrong.

-Pure bred male Shetland Sheepdog
-Had all basic vaccinations
-Lived for 8 healthy years until he had to be put down as a result of his illness
-Contracted what we think was kennel cough and health deterriorated afterwards (we are uncertain if it was connected to his fatal illness)
-Vomited daily for maybe 6 weeks, and had on and off loose stool for the same amount of time
-Could not hold food down in final week, with constant and uncontrollable diahrrea
-Tests showed a dangerously low level of white blood cells shortly before euthenization
-Had lumps on his back, but some seemed to disappear or shrink

I thought it was a viral infection but the lumps on his back and the low white blood cells make me wonder if it may have been a type of cancer.
Any ideas would be very appeciated and would benefit other sheltie owners with similar circumstances.

Because i'm thinking of adopting a little puppy of that breed. Also i have another dog in the house. A medium one. We have 5 bedrooms a pool and a big front yard. Also we have three pitbulls that live next door.

or "sheltie" . but, as he got older we realized he seemed too big for a sheltie but too small for a collie. Is there such a thing as an over-sized sheltie and how common is it?

I have a friend who breeds and shows Shelties. She loves jigsaw puzzles and I was hoping to find a nice sheltie puzzle for a Christmas gift. I've found a few on the web, but nothing spectacular. She has said she would like to get one to complete and hang on the wall of the office in her new kennel. Thank you for your help, all you Santa's Elves out there *smile*
