What Should I Expect From My Teacup Poodle When I Bring My Twins Home for the First Time?

by Dogs.net on July 23, 2011

Well, my poodle is very spoiled right now and I'm scared of what will happen when I bring my twins home for the first time. Will she be aggresive towards them because they get all of my attention? How did your dog react?

The dog might get jealous and try to bite the twins,,but it does not mean you have to lock the dog up because of that , She even might love them to death and try to play with them,,, she might think these are toys to play with NASA try to play with them so just be careful with them and the dog, but do get the twins used to the dog by letting the dog be around when they are on the ground playing. don’t shut the dog in another room hey will both learn to be gentle with each other in the long run.

I doubt you have anything to worry about. She will sense that they are your children and will fall in love with them. If it was a pit-bull I would worry, but not a poodle. Just be careful the first few weeks, but don’t weird he dog out or overreact either. Make sure you show her some attention.

well it just depends on how ur gonna treat ur dog once u get home. Dont just ignore her, let her know she is still greatly loved and let her get close but not too close so she can get a feel of what ur giving ur attention to. most small house dogs are very protective of there families. once she gets use to the change then ull be fine just kep an eye on her and still give her loveins as u would any other time. shell have ur back if u ever need her.

You shouldn’t expect anything in particular, but should prepare for the worst.

Your dog may be jealous, and frankly, dangerous.

Your dog may appear to be wonderful, and one day snap.

Dont ever let the dog alone with the new borns.

You need to take baby steps with her. When the babies are born have someone bring a blanket home to your dog before the babies get there, that way the dog with atleast know the babies sent.

I have a few dogs, most work on the farm, but one is my baby. I have had him for a lot longer than my twins or my man!!
He got really crappy with me when I bought the kids home. He sulked and did anything for attention.
My best advise don’t trust her!! Never leave her unattended with your children!! EVER!!
It isn’t worth it.

Congratulation on twins!!! Welcome to the wonderful yet wacky weird of twins!!
