How Much Should My Pomeranian/long Hair Dachshund Go For?

by Dogs.net on November 21, 2011

I have a pomeranian/long hair dachshund mix, and he is my world, but I have to find him a good home and I was just curious as to how much he should go for? He looks like a little husky (the coloring) and has bright blue eyes, he's adorable! I can't go ANYWHERE without getting stopped.

$50 to cover the cost of first shots and vet check… It’s a mutt, there are lots of cute ones in the shelter too.

To a good home – the $s shouldn’t be a factor

First be sure this dog is neutered before you rehome him. Then cover the cost of neutering, up date the shots and do a worming.

Whatever that costs is the price of your mix.

They charge a $25 intake fee at my local pound.

So that is what you will have to spend to get rid of him.

Money shouldnt be the mane thing……finding him a good home should be. I say 75.00 if you give animals away they mean nothing to the people that get them.

He’s worth the same as any mutt. If he’s neutered and up to date on vaccines, he would be worth whatever your local shelter charges as an adoption fee.

Surrender him to a rescue. See if there are any pomeranian or doxie rescues in your area; they’d be more likely to take him than a normal rescue (which are more likely to be at-capacity).

About $1.66 lb.

Mixed breeds are typically sold for $50.

You charge a rehoming fee and if you have spent money on vet bills that is the amount you ask for, you do not sell your mutt dog, $50-$100 at the most.

A mix isn’t worth anything other then what you but into it. So what you spent on getting him neutered and his shots is all you should ask for. Honestly you should never try to sell a mix, the only dogs that are worth anything are pure bred and registered and papered. And as a dog gets older the less people will pay for it even if it is pure bred. It may be sad that the older the dog gets the less valuable it is but that’s the way it works, to you your dog is very valuable because you love him but to other people all they see is an adult mix breed dog that is worth $50 at most. You should never give an animal away for free though unless you do a home inspection to make sure that they will take good care of your baby. I would never sell or give away a an animal at all period without a home inspection and with them allowing you to stop by and see how he is doing occasionally.
