I do not understand why I would be alergic to a miniature schnauzer puppy when I had one as a child and previously as an adult. I have bathed the dog several times, but after being around it for just a few minutes, my throat gets sore, and feels clogged up, and it is difficult to swallow. Does anyone know why I would be allergic to a puppy or this breed when I previously had no problem?

Is it possible to get a min. schnauzer to coexist with a rabbit? I dont think because it's a terrier and all, but ive always been interested in them, but love my rabbit too.

Do any of you have Miniature Schnauzers? I have one at the age of around 3-4 years old. And he is always having problems with people, he barks at people in a group of 2. And barks at other dogs and he goes wild when i take him out on walks. He is always trying to mark his territories, at leaste x5 in the same places. Whenever he sees another part of the world besides my backyard, he just goes running out and dosent come back for at least 10 min. which gets me worried, and whenever there are a lot of people around he never goes running. What can i do?

Hello,
I am getting a 6 week old puppy in about 3 weeks.
The mother is a miniature schnauzer. The father is a Yorkshire terrier.
The yorkshire terrier got run over by a car after they found out the mother was pregnant.
The schnauzer does not look like a regular schnauzer.
She is white and has a short, curly coat.
Im almost POSITIVE she is a purebred schnauzer according to the owner.
I saw the puppys when they were 4 days old.
Three of them were very light brown and 3 of them were black with a few tan spots here and there.
Is that normal for a ''snorkie''?[schnauzer/yorkie mix]

Ok I was wondering if a miniature schnauzer could live in an apartment? I willwalk the dog twice a day and play with it inside a whole lot. I am very intrested in getting this breed, but want to do what's best for the dog.

im just curious...i have a miniature schnauzer and she is fully trained. lately i have been having problems with her peeing almost everywhere when someone walks by her or if she hears my mom yellling at my brother. I know its not normal, shes never done this. Should i take her to the vet and have her checked out again or is it all because she just cant control her full emotions yet? She is only 8 months old....

My mom is pretty allergic to fur. We have a dog already, but she is an outdoor dog. I have the opportunity to adopt a free Schnauzer puppy in november, and I was wondering if it would probably be a problem to have the puppy as an indoor dog. These dogs seem to have "hair" not "fur" and it's cut pretty short everywhere but their faces. So I'm not sure. Any advice?

I am interested in getting a minitaure schnauzer as a puppy. If you own one, were they difficult to train, care for. What is the best thing you like about the breed?
I have heard they do not have the normal doggie odor and they do not shed much. Is this true?

I have a two year old miniature schnauzer that has the worst case of separation anxiety I have ever experienced!! When left alone he salivates so much his beard and paws, as well as the tile floor of the area he is left in, are soaked with slobber. He will also bang his head against the door of the area in which he is left. It is not a particularly small area either, consisting of a laundry room and my bedroom. I am starting to become very worried for his safety while I am gone. I have a DAP that is in the area and has not worked at all. I am a student and am really busy right now and don't know if I have the time for the behavioral treatment that some suggest (leave him for a minute until he doesn't react, then for five, etc), plus I don't think it would work. I am desperate for a solution, any ideas would be appreciated!
