What Kind of Dog Would You Get if a Great Dane and a Chihuahua Mated?

by Dogs.net on November 18, 2011

I know it would be difficult I would imagine but let's say the mother is a great dane, what kind of dog would one get?

Has it ever been done?

Just a curiosity question.

I am sure it’s been done but the result will still be a mongrel or mutt.

An odd lot of individuals with very strange variations, and likely some severe orthopedic and heart defects. The genes are very different in each breed which dictate the shape of the body parts and how they fit together. In addition, cross bred dogs end up with a higher percentage of recessive genes being expressed for lack of dominant genee to suppress them. In short, it’s a good way to make dogs that will have some very serious problems and a hard life – as well as iffy temperaments.

Ya, it’s been done!
My dog is a Yorkie Poo.. only the mom was a HUGE standard poodle and the dad was a really small yorkie, then we got a way-bigger-than-beagle yorkie poo!
