My fiance and I are looking into getting a Great Dane puppy, we both want a male, and chose the name Zeus. We are undecided about what color Great Dane we prefer but it's between Blue, Black, Mantle, and Harlequin. Which coloring best fits the name Zeus?

Personally I see a Blue when I hear the name “Zeus.”
The color of your pup is really not the most important thing you should be looking for though — first and foremost you need to make sure you are buying from a reputable breeder. That will ensure that your “Zeus” will have the proper temperament of a Dane (gentle giant
) and that Zeus’s parents will have been screened for genetic disease prior to breeding.

And please read the first section about the breeder Code of Ethics and health testing that breeders should do on dogs, don’t just skip to the breeders! That first part is VERY important!
To be honest, I think that name fits all the colors, especially Black and Harlequin. Either way I think it’ll fit no matter the color.
I see Black. Maybe Blue, but would have to have the right personality.
When it comes down to picking out names, i like everything to “work together” (temperament, color, mannerisms, attitude) Name picking is one of my favorite things to do.
Black and blue are the first colors to pop into my head, hearing that name…
Zeus would def. be a blue or black, harls and mantle’s are more classy names

btw; we just got a great dane a couple of months ago.
he was a rescue, but it was a surender.
most all great danes have seperation problems.
so, be up for whining and crying.
but over all, hes the best dog ever.
