Can Somebody Suggest Home Made Food for My Golden Retriever?

by Dogs.net on December 7, 2011

I would like to prepare homemade food to my golden retriever dog, apart from his regular dry food. I am not sure what is and isn't good to give him. He's 1yr 1/2, weights about 70-75 lbs. Any suggestions?

when my puppy is sick i boil chicken and rice. I make sure not to put any salt in it though but he gobbles it up. Dogs can basically eat just about anything. Dog foods now have carrots, rice, barley, apples, chicken, filet mignon, lamb. just as long as your not feeding your dog chocolate and sweets, i think fruits and vegetables are fine :)

Get this book. “A Holistic Guide for a Healthy Dog” by Wendy Volhard and Kerry Brown, DVM. It has a complete raw diet listed in the book.
