My German Shorthaired Pointer Has a Droopy Eye to the Extreme? Please Help! Does This Happen With Other Dogs?

She naturally has droopy eyes but now it's to an extreme. You can see the blood red tissue underneath. This morning she kept getting sleep ash all over her face near it. Please respond!

i have noticed it in other dogs but i think you should see a specialist vet or get the vet school to look at it and they will be able to tell you of any potential problems depending on your dogs age. good luck

My dog has had eye infections that have looked like droopy or like she’s been kicked in the eye. She had to get antibiotics from the vet. He said her eye got like that from chronic dryness which meant the naturally-cleansing tears weren’t able to wash bacteria away. No she gets artificial tear drops just like a person.

Instead of coming to YA’s for answers, have your vet refer you to a canine ophthalmologist. People on YA’s are not vets, and are not qualified to answer such a question.
