I have a 2 year oldgerman shepherd mix. I think he i's mixed with a pitbull but I'm not sure. I kind of researched pitbull/ german shepherd mix on youtube and saw dogs that look exactly like my dog. He is very very extremely playful. Im getting a pitbull puppy in a few weeks. Would they be compatible? And how should I introduce them and when should I do it?

You should not bring a Pit Bull puppy into the house you are asking for problems. Both dogs are aggressive in nature, so that can mean trouble. Why ask for trouble.
Totally depends on the dogs personalities and behavior. U should let them meet somewhere that’s not filled with ur two year olds scent ( not at home ). Since this is the first general meeting, you don’t want the 2 year old to get dominant, possessive, or territorial which he will do with any new dog. The pup could also become fearful and unsure, which he already will be when brought to new places. Go to the shelter or where the pup is and bring ur other dog, or take them to friend/family members house that doesn’t have a dog but a yard. Let them smell each other and play for a while. When u bring the pup home, make sure ur older dog sees him when he comes in so he won’t be surprised and defensive. Let them smell each other again and just watch them. Take them outside together if u have a yard so they cam get use to each others smell ( the poop and pee really gives off their scent ).
If u have the time, its best to take ur dog to see the pup as many times as possible. U have a few weeks, I would take the dog over to the pup 3 times a week if not more.
Pit bulls are territorial. Are you ready to properly train your dogs? If you are getting a pit puppy without knowing it’s background and bloodlines, you are asking for trouble. You don’t even know the lineage of your first dog, and you are dealing with a territorial breed!
It’s not really a breed issue. It varies on a dog-by-dog basis. Introduce your dogs on neutral ground, like a park or someone else’s yard. Don’t do it at your house, your mix might just turn on your pup to assert dominance and control of the area.
And you need to make sure that your dog has shown no signs of aggression and is WELL TRAINED. A rowdy GS mix and a growing Pitbull could get out of hand in just a few weeks.
It totally depends on how they behave around other dogs. And don’t listen to people saying pit bulls are agressive. It’s just a myth. But yea they would be. just give it some time!:)
Before I answer your question im going to tell you my experience with this.
she was my favorite.
For my birthday my mom got me a german shepard/collie mix. My dad got me a red nose/ brindle pit pit. Both females. They liked each other up until the both turned a year. They fought all the time. The couldn’t be in the same room with each other ever! They fought over toys, food, and attention. I had to end up giving away the pit
This shows you that it might not be a great idea if you get a male pit and you already have a male dog. Male pits are very dominate. They usually aren’t good with other male dogs un less they grow up together. Just know that my pit came from parents that were known for fighting.
Maybe you can make it work.
