I'm planning on getting a doberman pinscher and an english bull terrier, as puppies hopefully. i was wondering with their traits of being highly protective of territory if they'll be able to get along without fighting each other?

If one is a male and the other female, there is no less chance of them getting along than any breed. Dogs instinctively get along but they need leadership and guidance. You need to establish rules and ensure they follow. Both need to be fixed. They will both require exercise and mental stimulation. Make sure you are capable of providing completely for two dogs before making this decision and get them at different times so you’re not trying to deal with two puppies. Train them separately as well as together. You don’t want them over bonding so they don’t care what you say.
It is a dominant characteristic of an adolescent Dobermann to begin to exhibit watch dog behavior.
A Dobermann will bark to alert its owner to check out anything unusual in its environment & there its job ends. It should then relax because it has been trained to be clear that it’s the responsibility of the owner not the dog to investigate & deal with whatever the dog alerted on.
The owner should decide what is a real threat & the dog should always look to its owner for direction on how to behave & remain responsive to commands. The owner protects the territory NOT the dog.
If you want to purchase two puppies, do NOT purchase two males, as FEW male Dobermanns will tolerate the presence of another male dog in the household with aggression resulting is serious bite wounds to one or both dogs. Male/male aggression is a dominant characteristic of the breed & what nature gave the dog in its genetic inheritance cannot be changed by castration.
Dog/b*tch would be the best combination & I would suggest having a six month to one year gap between purchasing the Dobermann & EBT, because training & socialising two puppies separately as you would need to do, would be hard work.
