Well, when you feel ready for the resonsability and you think she’s ready. I’d wait a few more weeks
Wow, you are gonna get a lot of opinions on this one. Think about why you want to breed and who will take care of the pups in this sadly overpopulated animal world. The dog should have at least 2 heats before mating. Please do your research.
I don’t think anyone should be over-breeding dogs. Its cruel lots of dogs die in shelters due to over-breeding. Go to your vet right away and get her spayed! Do you want to risk your dog’s life. There is no such thing as a teacup , you must have got the dog at a pet store! Do me a favor and do your research!
ADD: No big deal?! she could die if she is giving birth. She could get sick. Troll!
She’s still a puppy herself yet you are already wanting her to be a breeding machine…
”Shes a tea cup btw.”……proves you are extremely gullible and should NEVER breed a dog!! Get her spayed or risk your bltches life!! Did you know…pretty much all Chi’s need a c section costing thousands?? And they also have an extremely high mortality rate?? ……. Breeding her is not looking so rosy now is it!!
”No big deal”….Yes BIG deal since she will probably die as you don’t have a clue. Is it really worth the risk?? No! If you loved your dog you’d get her spayed and wouldn’t be so selfish in wanting her to have puppies and in doing so putting her life at risk!!! This is why people like you shouldn’t own a dog, especially a Chi!!!
There is no such thing as teacup, you bought a poorly bred runt puppy, no way in HELL should she breed to create more poorly bred dogs. Spay her in the this week.
ADD: Yes it is, those puppies will not have a good home insured to them. There are millions of animals from “one time breedings”, “accidental breedings”, and BYBs!! Go to the shelter and look at all the dogs that YOU will be taking homes away from! Don’t be selfish. First of all you know NOTHING about breeding. She isn’t quality so you can’t even show her. Plus she needs genetic testing, and you need a butt load of money to make sure that you’re breeding right. But since she’s not quality none of it matters! You’ll most likely kill her and the pups. DO NOT BREED!
DO NOT BREED HER!! there are thousands of puppies and dogs put to sleep because everyone thinks they are a breeder. she should be over a year old to breed anyways.
what the crap is wrong with u she is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to young she has to be older than a year ohh and if she is a teacup ur really not supposed to breed her cuz she can die oh and u CANT breed her the first time she goes in heat cuz something could happen but shes to young
Your poorly bred runt can be spayed at 5 months. Get off your computer, call your vet, and arrange a spay appointment as soon as you can. There is NO such thing as a TEACUP. Chihuahuas come in one size only.
Anything labelled as “teacup” is not breeding quality. Period. “Teacup” is a made-up term used by irresponsible breeders trying to make a profit off of their poor quality, under sized animals. It is not a recognized term by ANY legit kennel club and is not recognized by the Chihuahua Club of America.
What you have is an already poorly bred, under sized, non-proven, un-tested b*tch. In other words, you have a PET. No one with a decent stud would touch her with a ten foot pole. No one smart would touch any of her pups.
There is no need to breed her. Period. Even one litter could kill her. Yes, kill her.
She needs to be two years or older. She needs to be proven in show. She needs to have all relevant genetic testing done. You need to have a few thousand dollars on hand for her care. You need to have a mentor. You will need a lawyer to help you write up contracts for prospective buyers.
Know anything about fluids and significance of their colors? What about primary and secondary inertia? What about pup resuscitation? When the b*tch needs help, how to help, and when to call the vet? What about walrus puppies?

I would advise against breeding, espically with a teacup, but if you must wait until she is 1.5 years…
please don’t breed!
They should be at least two. BUT as an owner of two chihuahuas I am going to tell you it is a big deal. Chihuahuas can have a lot of issues while giving birth…especially a “tea cup” chihuahua. There is usually a weight limit that you should follow. Do you have money for vet bills? What if the dog needs a c-section? Also, do you know how many chihuahuas don’t have homes?? Your already thinking about ur dog having pups at 5 months? Please enjoy your puppy and get her fixed.
never.. you get her spayed.
Yes, it is a “big deal” to breed once. Breeding is risky. There are many complications that could KILL your dog. Small dogs are expecially prone to complications.
