I have a 2lb Chihuahua that is 8 months old. I am used to dogs having a significant amount of discharge when they are in heat but I haven't seen any with her. I also have a male Chihuahua, he is fixed, but he hasn't acted like he was more interested in her or anything of that nature. She hasn't changed her personality or acted like she was in heat, as most animals seem to do. I bought her a diaper to wear and haven't seen anything in it either. I'm at a loss.

You can tell if your chihuahua is in heat when her thing starts to swell up. It will get bigger, and she will behave differently, more friendly to other dogs
My female chihuahua is always licking things, but when she’s in heat she licks herself constantly.

It’s possible she hasn’t come into her first heat yet. It’s not uncommon at all for smaller dogs to come into heat between 6 months and a year. She could just be a late bloomer. =)
If you’re truly worried about it,take her to a vet and ask. ^^
Obviously this dog is not in heat. It sounds like you have some experience with this. I don’t get what makes you think she is in heat when all the obvious sign are missing. Don’t forget her vulva will be swollen as well. Generally little dogs come into heat at an earlier age than large dogs. She could easily already have had a heat. And please remember that a very, very high % of dogs not spayed BEFORE their first heat get cancer.Spaying is by far the biggest favor you can do for your pet.As long as we still have animals in shelters without homes we have no need for any more to be born. When she does come into heat I bet you will notice.
