My male boxer is 6 months old. I am curious what the best age is to have him fixed. I have heard that if you do it too early it can stunt their growth.
I also have a female boxer that is spayed. He has started being aggressive towards her. Nothing serious, just rough houses a bit too much. Will getting him fixed help this?

Fix him now that is the best time
Breed is immaterial.
You “heard” bullcrap.
Castrate today.
Just do it before he bites another boxer’s ear off…
6 months and it won’t.
Way time – get him neutered. 4 to 6 months is just fine, 4 months even better. The younger the dog, the less it bothers him and the faster he recovers. I’ve had young dogs like yours neutered by the dozen, they are up and running the same day – hard part is keeping them relatively calm they usually feel so recovered in a matter of a day.
Between 5 – 6 months old. It does not stunt their growth. The health benefits reaped by neutering shows that the earlier the better for males.
Kudos for getting your dog neutered! He’s old enough to neuter now, and it won’t make a significant difference in his ultimate size.
6 months is about the right time to do it.
6 months is the best time.

Hi,
A male dog can be neutered any time after eight weeks of age. A few years ago, most veterinarians advised waiting until puberty hit at about six months, and some still make that recommendation. Talk to your veterinarian about what’s best for your dog. Here’s more info:
