How Much Bigger Will My Boxer Get?

by Dogs.net on December 3, 2011

I have a male boxer who weighs 35 pounds right now and is 5 1/2 months old. He still has not filled out, and I do not have a lot of knowledge about the breed. Is this going to be a larger boxer judging by his weight now? Any estimates on how much bigger he will get?
Thank you
Also, what kind of food will support his growth the best?

He will get about 55lbs. Feed him a high quality puppy food.

Your Boxer will get to around 65 – 70 pounds at full growth.

I’ve owned several Boxers and have tried various brands of food. Some brands were so bad that they made him leave horrible smelly messes and some even burned a hole in his coat. After much trail and error, I diecovered Royal Canin for Boxers (they have a line for most common breeds). This food is designed exactly for Boxers. It is shaped for them to easily eat (since they have shorter snouts its hard for them to eat say a round, small kernel), and it is designed to process fast because Boxers have smaller than average medium dog intestines so this food gives them the nutrition they need. And – best of all, their pooh is not smelly and much easier to pick up after!
