I'm looking to hunt rabbits, and will be looking into purchasing a beagle. Not only a beagle, but a beagle puppy. I want my beagle to be breed for hunting rabbits. I may even enter my beagle in a few field trial competitions when its ready. Well anyway, I live in Charles Town, West Virginia, it is in the eastern panhandle. Does anyone know of any beagle breeders that would fulfill my needs in my area?

i have a 4mo old beagle, and he recently has been very yappy an crazy. how do i teach him not to bark. (we live in an apartment) no type of punnishment seems to work. ive tried a spray bottle, but he tries to drink it, ive yelled, ive left the room, nothing works. any tips would be great?

I have had my 3 month old Beagle puppy for 3 weeks now and have trained her to go potty outside only. She was doing excellent! For the last 3 days it has rained nonstop for the first time since we got her and since the rain started she will not go outside at all, only in the house. There is no covered area in our yard and she runs to the door every time we take her to her potty spot. We have done the same routine with her and don't know what to do. She even went on our bed. Please help.

I have a three month old beagle puppy. she's a great dog. but while walking her whenever we pass other people and/or dogs she starts pulling and gets overly excited. sometimes so excited she bites these people. shes NOT an aggressive dog. but with other dogs or anyone passing by she gets different. not mean. just super excited. i would like her to get to meet others with a much more calmer attitude.
what do i do to tame that?

My beagle is 5 months old, he smells fine, and is pretty well potty trained but he always sheds so much so thats why we keep him in the patio. I would love to bring him inside the house,but if he ever lays down so much hair comes off him and even if he walks hair sheds off. I really want to find a good way for him to stop shedding so I can keep him in the house more.

I am going to a hunting dog festival/show, and they will have hundreds of puppies there. I am looking for a Beagle or two to be a companion, not a hunter, but I want to make sure that I get a healthy, friendly and loving dog. Any suggestions?
I have had abeagle, and mine was wonderful. She was very smart, but just stubborn and you should never let your beagle out without putting it on a leash. Also my beagle wasn't really that into food. I think each beagle is different.

I have a 2 year old Beagle who is very lovable. The only thing we don't get is that when we get hpme and sit on the couch, she comes licks our face and then rubs her neck on us and almost smothers us. We don't know why though. Any ideas?

We have a 20 week old male beagle that we want to train to hunt rabbits. We have bought rabbit scent and put it on his favorite toy, and had him search on the trail that we left. However, he doesn't seem to interested in searching for it. We don't have the option to run with other trained rabbit hunting dogs. We have taken him to the fields to jump rabbits but he looses interest quick. Does anyone have any ideas on training them? Anything would help. Thanks!

I have a one and a half year old un-neutered, male beagle who barks excessively every time he goes outside. We have to let him out in the front of our house and he barks at every squirrel, dog, cat and kid in the neighborhood. I've tried just about everything and can't get him to stop. Any ideas??

Recently adopted a 10 month old beagle. Love the dog. Great with the kids. The only problem we have is that the doorbell makes him go crazy. He will bark and charge the door when the bell sounds. He goes after whoever is at the door when they ring it. If they knock, he is mellow as can be.
